Ukiah Grows the Arts

Besides grapes, timber and other valuable products, Ukiah grows the arts – in a big way – in marvelously diverse ways.

The Grace Hudson Museum is an art, history and anthropology museum focusing on the lifeworks of artist Grace Carpenter Hudson (1865-1937) and her ethnologist husband, Dr. John W. Hudson (1857-1936). Changing interdisciplinary exhibitions and public programs feature Western American art, California Indian cultures, histories of California's diverse North Coast region, and the work of contemporary regional artists
 
Mendocino Ballet Incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1984, the Mendocino Ballet is dedicated to providing the highest quality clasical ballet and other professional dance instruction and performance opportunities in Mendocino County and the surrounding areas.
 
SPACE is a professionally managed public benefit community organization founded in 1995. Serving ages 2-1/2 to 18. Space emphasizes diversity, youth leadership, cross-cultural arts, social awareness and activism, with a focus on the performing arts as community service.
 
Ukiah Community Concert Association has been bringing live, world-class performers to the Ukiah stage for more than 60 years!   The concert series runs from fall to spring and presents four or five concerts at the Ukiah high school auditorium  each season, usually September to April.
 
Ukiah Players Theatre is a professionally managed nonprofit community organization in residence at the Ukiah Playhouse. Committed to providing our rural audiences with a wide range of theatre experiences including the classics and contemporary plays as well as original theatre pieces created for, by, and about our community. 
 
Ukiah Symphony Association is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to maintain a community orchestra of the highest quality possible serving the residents of Mendocino and surrounding counties. It offers a full range of concerts, music education programs for youth, and performace opportunities for musicians.
 
Ukiah First Friday Art Stroll with over 7 local art galleries join us the first Friday each month in Historic Downtown Ukiah from 5:30-8pm.  Local art galleries will display their fine arts and crafts for all to enjoy.  Most of the galleries also offer some light appetizers, refreshments and wine.
